Green blurb on map - why?
[edit]The map shows a green blurb roughly in the middle of the US part of the red area (that indicates Pacific Time on the map). What is that green blurb about? Ds77 (talk) 18:45, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- I suspect that is the Navaho nation which doesn't use Arizona's lack of daylight savings time (always on standard time). But the resolution of that image is so poor that it isn't easy to say whether that is near Arizona or not. —EncMstr (talk) 00:00, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- Navajo Nation is in Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico; all of which are in Mountain time; Navajo Nation follows daylight saving time while Arizona does not. Hopi Reservation, inside the Arizona portion of the Navajo Nation, is on Mountain time but does not follow daylight saving time.
-
- The blurb is an '8', the number of hours west of the prime meridian; Mountain shows a '7', Central shows a '6', etc.

- Ah hahaha, yes, that must be an '8'! Thank you.

Yukon adopts a new time
[edit]Yukon (aka Yukon Territory) has decided to permanently change to UTC -7. My information is this law passed into law September 24, 2020. That is how I read "ORDER-IN-COUNCIL 2020/ 125, YUKON CANADA." I found a link to the law here (http://www.gov.yk.ca/legislation/regs/oic2020_125.pdf) but here is my point.
How do we change the graphic? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrwrite (talk • contribs) 19:35, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Change to wording of Note
[edit]I am unable to figure out how to edit Note a. "While the state of Arizona lies entirely within in the Mountain Time Zone," It should read "While the state of Arizona lies entirely within the Mountain Time Zone," JohnSHicks (talk) 12:33, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
Date format
[edit]@Joeyconnick: Per MOS:DATETIES, there's a strong case to use MDY here. The United States and Canada are the only English-speaking nations in the time zone, and as Canada can go either way, this would make using MDY a no-brainer. SounderBruce 04:50, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Great... that should have been in your edit summaries. —Joeyconnick (talk) 04:52, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
